Sadick Adams and Eric Donkor switched to AshantiGold from Kotoko few days ago but they might not don the yellow and black colours of the Miners for long with a transfer deal looming.
According to the club’s bankroller Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, the former Porcupine stars are nearing a switch to a Spanish team despite joining the Obuasi-based side last week per the proposal of the club’s technical director.
“There is no problem between me and coach C.K Akonnor. I buy players for the club on the recommendations from the technical director and not the coach. He told me he needs a striker and I bought Sadick for him.
“Sadick Adams might not even kick a ball for AshGold and same applies to Eric Donkor. They will leave for a club in Spain. I’m negotiating for him and he has two clubs at hand now. He has his visa and he’s in Accra now. We aren’t joking here, we mean business,” he told Kumasi FM.
The financial guru also allayed fears of disunity in the team’s management, explaining how close he is his co-owner.
There is no problem between me and Nana Achiken. We eat fufu together every day. The deal is done now and it’s 90/10 percent respectively.”
The two lads played huge roles for Asante Kotoko as they clinched the 2017/18 MTN FA Cup title with a 3-1 victory against Hearts of Oak.
Adams finished last season as the Porcupine’s top scorer and bagged a hat-trick in the cup final while Donkor was an integral member of the Reds, spending seven years with the Ghanaian giants.
