Promising striker Kwadwo Obeng Junior is now officially a registered Accra Hearts of Oak player in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League – and could make his debut against Kotoko in the number 13 shirt.
The Phobians who have been struggling for consistency are on the road on matchday 10 to face sworn rivals Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday April 29.
Following the opening of the second transfer window, Hearts have been able to finally register the 19-year-old left-footed striker after signing him on a four-year deal earlier this month.
Obeng Junior will wear the number 13 shirt – same as the total league goals in his breakthrough season at Division One side Nea Salamina last term.
Facing Kotoko and especially in Kumasi will be no new experience for the former Aduana Stars trainee who tormented and scored against the Porcupine Warriors in Kumasi during last season’s MTN FA Cup.
Kwadwo Obeng Junior was courted by Kotoko during the off-season but preferred a move abroad. However, a deal with Latvian side FK Spartaks Jurmala could not materialize hence his return home but joined Hearts instead.
