Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu surgery date revealed

Richard Senanu is scheduled to undergo surgery at the Sudstadt Clinic in Rostock, Germany, on Monday, June 24, 2019, the Kotoko Medical Team has confirmed.

The Kotoko midfielder suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament of the knee at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in Kotoko’s 2-1 win over Zambia giants ZESCO United in a Group C game of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The defensive midfielder took a pass from Maxwell Baakoh and was trying to turn his marker when he fell on the pitch after a cynical tackle.

The severity of the injury requires that Kotoko fly him out of Ghana for treatment abroad, but an initial trip to a health facility in Dubai was canceled as the club looked for the best among the options available.

Richard Senanu is scheduled to arrive in the city located in the north German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the coming days, pending the acquisition of all the necessary traveling documents.

The player would go through an ACL reconstruction and a post-surgery rehabilitation program in Germany.

Medical Team Member, Emmanuel Osei Owusu, will accompany the player.

The duo will spend about six weeks in Germany before they return to Ghana to continue with the recuperation process.
