Charles Kwabla Akunnor, the head coach for Ashantigold SC has been named by the Ghana Premier League Board [PLB] amongst a number of nominees for the NASCO player and coach awards for the month of June.
Akunnor is to compete with Klavs Rasmussen, the head coach for West African Football Academy [WAFA] who was the first winner of the award in April and Edward Odoom, head coach for Tema Youth for the NASCO awards in the month of June.
The former black stars player has helped the Miners move up from the relegation zone to the 13th position on the league log ever since joining the club in the second round of the 2017/17 Ghana Premier League season.
George Owu 34, goalkeeper for Ashantigold SC conceding just a goal in seven games have been nominated as player of the month with David Abagna of Wa All Stars and John Painstil of Tema Youth all in the race for the award.
Winners for the respective awards is expected to be announced before the Match day 21 of the Ghana Premier League.
