Asante Kotoko agree to play Hearts of Oak in Tier-one semis

Asante Kotoko have agreed to face Hearts of Oak in the Tier-one semifinals after the Normalization Committee met one of their demands.

This comes after mediation talks championed by Kudjoe Fianoo, a member of the organizing committee with the permission of its absent leadership.

“In the absence of my Chairman and his vice (Samuel Osei Kuffour and Patrick Ofori who are out of Ghana on official duties), I had to take the matter up so spoke to Dr. Kwame Kyei and George Amoako while the Deputy Sports Minister (Perry Okudzeto) was on stand by.

“We have agreed the match is coming off on 16th June at Accra Sports Stadium with the gate proceeds being 40% each for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko and the 20% for the Normalization Committee,” Fianoo told Oyerepa FM Saturday.

Kotoko previously refused to play the game due to revenue and venue issues, they petitioned the Normalization Committee and withdrew when they failed to meet their demands.

Asante Kotoko will play Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 16th after Ashgold face Karela United in Obuasi on June 15th.
